Catherine M. (Garlesky) Ruis

Ruis: Catherine M., 82 of Davidsville died peacefully at home on April 10, 2018, surrounded by her family.  Born May 15, 1935, the daughter of the late Jacob and Anna Garlesky.  Preceded in death by husband Joseph.  Also preceded in death by sisters Antoinette Pero, Julia Czinko, Mary Miller, Dorothy McGregor, and brothers John, Stanley, Frank, and Joseph.  Survived by children Joseph, married to Sandra Podgorney, Johnstown; Nadine, married to Jeff Zatsick, Johnstown; Cheryl, married to Eric Shoemaker, Chesterfield, VA; Karen married to Anthony Burgess, Winchester, VA; and Mark married to Sheri Rosenthal, Marvin, NC; and grandchildren Sydney and Morgan Ruis; Erica and Erin Rodgers; Ty, Evan, and Jenna Zatsick; Carson, Jordan, Megan, and Lauren Shoemaker; Nick, Patrick, Hannah, Samantha, and Gabrielle Burgess; and Marisa and Cameron Ruis. Also survived by sister Josephine (John) Kolonich and brothers George and William (Joanne).  Cathy worshiped at St. Anne’s Catholic Church and enjoyed cooking and watching Hallmark movies.  She loved spending time with her family.  She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.  Family will receive friends from 4-7 P.M. Friday at the George E. Mason Funeral Home, Inc. where Vigil for the deceased will be held at 4.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 A.M. Saturday at St. Anne Catholic Church Father John Voyteck, O.F.M. Conv. Celebrant.  Committal Grandview Mausoleum.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Charlotte Rollin’ Wheel Chair Basketball Team. Checks should be made payable to Abilities Unlimited of the Carolinias and mailed to Sheri Ruis, 7212 Stonehaven Drive, Marvin, NC 28173.
