Cortese: Julius A. “Jule” 84, passed away October 24, 2017 peacefully at his residence in Hollsopple. Born September 8, 1933 in Acosta the son of Michael and Nina (Robino) Cortese. Preceded in death by parents, wife Peggy (Trysnicky) Cortese, sister, Lucy Cortese, and brothers Joseph, Don, Leo, and Richard Cortese. Survived by these children Chuck Cortese; Vintondale and best friend Trudy Myers; Mineral Point, and Denise married to Brad Miller; Hooversville. He was the loving grandfather of Angela married to Tom “Briggsy” Briggs, Anita Married to Aaron Kmett, Nathan married to Paige Cortese and Zachary Cortese, and great grandchildren Gavin Kmett, Vayda Cortese and Camilla Cortese. Also survived by special cousin Vilma Gaia, who made yearly visits from Italy, and many special nieces and nephews. Julius was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. He spent his life serving Jehovah God and sharing the hope that he had of a resurrection and a time “when death will be no more” (Rev. 21:4) Julius was a surveyor’s assistant and worked for his brother Don. He enjoyed watching the Pirates, spending time with family and taking daily road trips with his best friend “Briggsy” He also loved spending time with his nephew Chris who he felt was like a second son. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service Saturday November 4 at 2 P.M. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses Johnstown. In lieu of flowers family asks donations be made to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses 103 Hillview Street Johnstown, PA 15905.
