Lehman: Owen T. of Hollsopple died peacefully at the age of 103 at Conemaugh Medical Center on April 7, 2017.  Born February 16, 1914 to Hiram J. and Mary (Thomas) Lehman.  Preceded in death by parents, wife of 73 years Mable (Eash) Lehman, brothers Harry, Leon (Reita), Elvin (Edna), Earl (Twila), Richard (Ethel), and Ernest (Grace).  He was the last surviving member of his generation on both sides of the family.  Survived by his children Phyllis (Arthur) Collier, Floyd (Chris) Lehman, and Tim (Rosellen) Lehman; grandchildren Eric (Melissa), Jill (Michael) Mazowiecki, Hattie Jo, and Andrew (Melody); greatgrandchildren John, Luke, Peter, and Matthew Mazowiecki, Benton, and Aidia Lehman, Brody and Aila Romano, and baby-to-be Keisel Lehman, many nieces and nephews and friends.  Owen, with his life partner Mable, enriched his children and grandchildren by maintaining a continuing interest in their lives, celebrating their accomplishments and remaining positive while accepting the limitations of aging.  Dad was a lifetime farmer.  He enjoyed the seasons- planting, harvesting, the order of life.  He spent many hours on the 3020 doing fieldwork.  His health and strength allowed him to continue working into his 90’s.  Mowing, raking, and baling hay were some of his favorite tasks.  With his wide brimmed straw hat, a Pioneer jug full of Ice water, and a big smile he was ready for whatever the job.  School buses were a big part of his life.  For 42 years he drove for the McIlwain family in the Westmont Upper Yoder District.  His life and ours were enriched by the many friends he made during that time.  In recent years it made his day when he met up with someone he drove to school or their families.  He was a founding member of the board of Johnstown Mennonite (now Christian) School, and a longtime member of the First Mennonite Church, Johnstown, where he and his wife served in many capacities.  In his youth and later years he was a member of Thomas Mennonite Church.  While an employee of US Steel, he began to donate blood for the war effort.  He was a frequent blood donor, giving over 20 gallons until he “aged out.”  Owen lived his Christian faith among his extended families and in the larger community.  His warmth, genuine caring, and compassion were models to generations of people whose lives he touched.  We thank family, neighbors, church groups, and friends of all ages who visited, or phoned him, brought favorite foods, and enlivened his days, especially in recent years.  Persons who delivered his Meals on Wheels provided a daily highlight.  Thanks to the 10th floor staff at Conemaugh for providing compassionate care during his brief stay.  Family will receive friends Monday from 2-8 P.M. at the George E. Mason Funeral Home, Inc. Davidsville, and Tuesday from 10 A.M. until time of funeral service at 11 A.M. at Thomas Mennonite Church.  Rev. Wes Yoder and Pastor Randall Schlabach officiating.  Memorial contributions can be made to Johnstown Christian School 125 Christian School Road, Hollsopple, PA 15935.
