David L. Thomas

THOMAS – David L. “Rudy” “Bones”, 59, Hollsopple, died December 13, 2018, at Windber Hospice. Born July 6, 1959 in Johnstown, son of Ralph and Gloria (Wentz) Thomas. Preceded in death by parents; stepfather, Emil Koontz; sister, Elaine Watkins; brother, Brian Thomas; brother-in-law, Donald D. Walker; niece, Stacey Dougherty; niece, Angela Phillippi; nephew, Donald R. Walker; and nephew, Nicholas Watkins. Brother of Phyllis Walker, Evelyn (Larry) Rager, Dorothy (Joe) Kozielec, Mike (Kathy) Thomas, Debbie (Don) Eash, Barry (Georgann) Thomas; brother-in-law David Watkins and sister-in-law Lisa Lesko. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. David was a longtime employee of Windber Country Club and a 1977 graduate of Conemaugh Township High School. He coached briefly at Conemaugh Township Youth League with his family and was an avid Pirates, Steelers and Pitt fan. He was a loving brother and uncle who was very proud of his nieces and nephews. He was appreciative of the exceptional care received from Windber Hospice, especially Jan and Peggy, and the love and support shown by friends at Windber Country Club. Family will receive friends from 4:00 – 8:00 pm Sunday with a Memorial Service 1:00 pm Monday at the George E. Mason Funeral Home, Inc. Davidsville, Pastor Larry Rowe, officiating.
