Cannon: Helen Louise (Younkin) 96 of Church of The Brethren Home died February 14, 2018 at the home. The last surviving member of her immediate family. She was born July 16, 1921 in Meyersdale the daughter of Henry C. and Emma P. (Christner) Younkin. Preceded in death by parents, husband James Cannon who died December 1963, and sisters Emily Jane Whetzel and Margaret Crisafulli. After graduating from Meyersdale High School in 1939 she attended Catherine’s Business School in Cumberland and worked for PUC and other offices in Harrisburg. She married James in 1948 and following his death she returned to Catherine’s Business School and became employed as a secretary for Robert Decker Construction Company of Garrett. She was a member of Stoystown United Church of Christ. Friends will be received from 10:30 A.M. until time of service at 11:00 A.M. Saturday at the George E. Mason Funeral Home, Inc. Davidsville Pastor Sharon Fox officiating. Interment Union Cemetery Meyersdale.
