John "Nick" Pollock Obituary

Pollock: John Nikolas (Nick), 72, Carpenters Park died September 23, 2019.  Born May 8, 1947. Preceded in death by parents, Nikolas and Mary (Berish) Pollock and father-in-law Robert Kaufman.  Survived by devoted wife of 51 years Sharron (Kaufman), son Robert (Ginger), grandchildren Christin Kemp (Paul Weaver), Trevor Pfeil, Drew Pfeil and great-grandchildren Sean Oaks, Alexis Kemp and Cheyenne Weaver.  Also survived by mother-in-law Loretta Kaufman, brother-in-law Gregory Kaufman (Donna), sister Linda Hegadus and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his puppy Hannah, who was new to his life, but was a great source of comfort over his final months. Nick was retired from Coca-Cola Bottling Company after 42 years of service.  He was an avid outdoorsman with archery being his full time hobby.  He spent considerable time at The Archery Zone where he enjoyed helping people with their bows.  He had countless friends that he made through his love of the outdoors. And he went on many road trips with them to a bow shoot or to a great fishing spot.  But Nick’s true passion was always his family.  As an outdoorsman, his greatest joy was teaching his son Robbie to hunt and fish.  They treasured and valued their time together in the woods and made lasting memories.  The love of hunting and the outdoors was passed down to his great-grandson Sean who will no doubt, put everything he learned to good use and keep his Pap’s “sportsman legacy” alive for many decades to come.  The constant and ever-true light of Nick’s life was his angel, his wife Sherri who was by his side through to the very end.  Nick was the life of the party, the voice you heard over everyone else’s and was a truly unforgettable character.  He lived every single day of his life to the fullest, filled with humor, honesty, vigor and passion.  He would want everyone who knew him to strive to do the same.  The family would like to thank Drs. Michael Voloshin, Rashid Awan and their staff for taking such wonderful care of Nick. Family will receive friend Thursday from 2-8 P.M. at the George E. Mason Funeral Home, Inc. Davidsville where funeral Service will be held at 10 A.M. Friday.  Interment Maple Spring Cemetery.
