K. Robert Burkhart

Burkhart: K. Robert, 78 of Johnstown died peacefully October 21, 2018 at home.  Born December 10, 1939 in Johnstown the son of Charles and Arbutus (Ott) Burkhart.  Preceded in death by parents and sister.  Survived by his wife of 58 years Jane Burkhart and these children R. Douglas and his wife Debbie (Bence) and Debra and her husband Michael Lynch.  Loving grandfather of Aaron Burkhart, Katie, Kristie, and Kara Lynch.  He is also survived by his sister-in-law and brother in law Ruby and Wayne Lehman and many nieces, nephews and cherished friends.  Bob was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church where he served as an usher. Bob served with the National Guard with 7 years of service.  Along with his wife and partner Jane owned and operated Ziebart for 42 years.  Bob was a charter member of the Conemaugh Township Rotary and was a former member of the Somerset Rotary.  He also was a member of the Tall Cedars, Jaffa Shrine, and Mason’s Blue Lodge.  He rarely missed his Thursday night Poker game with his friends for more than 30 years.  Bob was an avid hunter and fisherman and especially loved his time fishing with his friend Blaine Lester.  He always enjoyed his rides on his motorcycle with his son and friends.  Bob took great pride serving his customers and never turned anyone away; he lived his life serving others.  Family will receive friends Thursday from 4 P.M. until time of Memorial Service at 5 P.M. at Emmanuel Baptist Church Johnstown.  Pastor Kirk Rowland officiating.  Private interment Stahl Mennonite Cemetery.
