Lawrence Samuel Speigle, 63, of Hooversville, Pennsylvania passed away unexpectedly in his home on Wednesday, January 30, 2019.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Helen Speigle, Brother Richard Speigle II, Sister Joanne Speigle, and Cousin Don Sheffler.

Larry was born on May 13, 1955 to Richard and Helen Speigle (Spisak) of Davidsville, PA. He attended Conemaugh Township Area High School and later graduated from Vo-Tech High School in 1973 with a degree in heating and air conditioning. Larry worked for Bethlehem Steel upon graduating High School. He recently retired after more than 30 years of dedicated service as lead building engineer with Metropolitan Life. Larry also worked the family’s 200 acre farm near the Quemahoning Dam for over 50 years. He tended to the Charolais cattle herd, planted crops, and harvested hay over the years. Larry was a long time member of the Hollsopple VFW, Jerome American Legion, and the Jerome Polish Falcons.

Having a deep appreciation for fresh air and nature, Larry was known as an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed fly fishing the Sinnemahoning Portage Creek in Cameron and Potter Counties, bear hunting at his camp in Cameron County, deer hunting on his farm, and elk hunting with friends and family in Colorado. He was in awe of the bright blue Colorado skies. He also enjoyed tending to his garden and relaxing on his porch with his friends and family. Larry will always be remembered for his sense of humor, ranch parties, and his relentless work ethic.

Larry is survived by his Daughter, Kristy Hagan of Davidsville, PA, married to Tom Hagan, Son Todd Speigle of Bishopville, MD, married to Linsey Speigle (Stiffler), Daughter, Jody Hyjurick of Southmont, PA, married to Michael Hyjurick, and their Mother Sandra Miller;  Son Samuel Speigle of Holsopple, PA, Alisha Sabala of Portage, PA, and their Mother Trudy Deaner.

Grandchildren, Noah Hagan, Rocco Hagan, Gina Hagan, Isla Hyjurick, Asher Hyjurick, and Trent Speigle; Sister Pat and Clyde Hutzell of Davidsville, PA, Sister Connie and William Willett of Westmont, PA, Sister Sharon and Gary Weakland of Watkins, CO, and numerous nieces and nephews. Larry was a loving and caring Father and Pappy.

 A public remembrance service will be held from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday, February 4th, at George E. Mason Funeral Home located at 1687 Tire Hill Rd, Davidsville, PA 15928.
