Stahl: Loren G., 72 of Johnstown formerly of Davidsville died November 24, 2017.  Born July 24, 1945 the son of Lorraine K. and Eva Jean (Hammer) Stahl.  Preceded in death by parents, sister Enid, brother in laws Jim Jerkes, Donald Jerkes and Howard Hopkins.  Survived by wife Eileen (Jerkes), whom he was married to for 53 years.  Also survived by son Loren Gary, Jr and fiance’ Constance Malinovsky and daughter Lorraine G Bowman and her husband Matthew. Grandchildren Heather Hudy and husband Dan, Laryssa Stahl, Shane (fiance’ Allison) and Bryce Bowman. Great Grandchildren Asia, Xander, Maryn and Adler.  Additionally survived by brothers Ira (Kathy) Stahl and Keith (Carol) Stahl. Sister in law Barbara Hopkins and close cousins Carol Bigam of Tennessee, Tom Bigam of Pennsylvania and Patti Jenkins of Georgia. Also numerous nephews, nieces and cousins. He will be missed by special friends Ted and Jean Carrico. In his employment career, Loren was a former Owner-Operator for various trucking companies, Conemaugh Township Supervisor and recently retired from the EADS Group as an inspector. Also employed as a charter bus driver for Lodestar Bus Tours with over 15 years.  Dad/Pap lived a very fulfilling life and was able to experience many destinations not only as a truck driver, but even more so as a charter coach driver. He truly loved his family and was always willing to lend a hand to anyone, anytime when asked. He was involved or volunteered in many community organizations and especially his participation in the Boy Scouts, showing horses with his kids and as he grew older, together with mom, attending many school, band and sporting events that the grandkids were involved in.  He and mom shared an undeniable loving bond throughout their entire marriage and his greatest sense of love & pride was his family. We’ll forever hold fond memories in our hearts of a kind and giving man. He always cherished the many friendships he made during his life and endeavors.  We would like to thank the doctors and nurses of Chan Soon Shiong Medical Center that have taken care of him over the last few years during his various illnesses. The dedication and compassion you’ve shown him was simply unbelievable and our family is forever grateful. Also, thank you to the doctors and nurses at Memorial Medical Center/Rose-Ashman #6 ICU, you’re kindness and empathy the past two weeks has been wonderful, we’re thankful for your efforts to alleviate his struggle.  Family will receive friends Sunday  Nov. 26th 2:00 pm- 8:00 pm at the George E. Mason Funeral Home, Inc. Davidsville where funeral service will be held 10 A.M. Monday.  In lieu of flowers, family requests donations be made to Tire Hill Church of the Brethern or New Day, Inc. in Loren’s name.
