Mason: M. Elaine, 91, of Davidsville went home to be with the Lord May 24, 2019 at home surrounded by her family. Born March 14, 1928 in Jenners, PA the daughter of Frederick and Bertha (Miller) Shaffer. Preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband George E. Mason who passed February 27, 2008, grandsons Adam and Timothy, Brother John Shaffer and her In-Laws Edward Platt, Leland Mason, and Helen and Glenn Hoyt. Survived by the love of her life, her cat Snickers, her daughters Karen married to David Lehman, Dianne married to Ernest Holsopple, and Joani married to Leslie Holsopple. Also survived by her grandchildren Dale (Tanya), Mark (Robin), Laura (Chad), Tina (Scott), Jen (Shawn), Patty (Matt), Leslie Jay (Mary Jo), Eric (Karen), and Beth. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren Jacob, Keith, Elaine “Lainie”, Josh, Schylar, Ian, Maciah, Ryan, Lauren, Trinity, Jonathan, Thomas “Connor”, Jaeden, Ethan, Adrienne “Adie”, Kylie, Carlin, and Edward George. Sister of Patricia “Patty” Platt, Marjorie Shaffer, and Rozella Mason. Member of St. David’s Lutheran Church in Davidsville. Along with her husband George, she owned and operated the George E. Mason Funeral Home, Inc. where she loved talking to the families and helping during the viewings and services. She was a 1946 graduate of Somerset High School and went to Hammon Beauty School of Cosmotology. She also had many fond memories working for the Pine Grill for 17 years. Elaine loved shopping, ironing clothes and keeping her house, but she especially loved her family. She loved having all of her friends and family visiting her at their home at Daytona Beach. The family wishes to thank all of her care givers of many years, especially her current caregivers Cindy, Janie, Tracy, Susie, Nancy, Emma, Terri, Kathy, Melanie, Judie, “My Girls” as she said, for all of the loving care and attention they have shown toward her. Also a special thank you to Asera Care Hospice for their loving support. Family will receive friends from 2-8 P.M. Monday at the George E. Mason Funeral Home, Inc., in Davidsville and from 10 A.M. until the time of the funeral Service at 11 A.M. Tuesday at St. David’s Lutheran Church. Pastor Faron Johnson will officiate. Interment will be at Casebeer cemetery in Somerset. Elaine wishes donations be made to St. David’s Lutheran Church, the Somerset Humane Society in memory of Elaine and in honor of Snickers, or Camp PARC.
