Hoffman: Willard W. Sr. 92 of Stoystown formerly of Hollsopple died March 29, 2019 at Cornerstone Hospice in Florida. Born April 22, 1926 in Hancock, MD the son of Joseph and Thelma (Cubbage) Hoffman. Preceded in death by parents, wife the former Minnie M. Lambert who died October 8, 2011, son Willard Hoffman, Jr., Brothers Leonard, Joseph Jr, and Kenneth, and sisters Alice Orris, and Anna Lea Lubas. Survived by children Charlotte and husband Rodney Hillegas, Darlene Hoffman, and Gary and wife Kathy (Jones), and daughter-in-law Brenda Hummel. Will is also survived by his loving grandchildren Jessica and husband Matt Kristoff, Eddie and wife Windy (Horner), Sara Golden and fiancée Nick Mish, Alyssa and husband Luke Definbaugh, Abby Hoffman, Emily Hoffman, and Drew Hummel, and great grandchildren Josie, Juda, Jace, Easton, and Harlynne. Brother of Gloria Jean and husband John McGown. Will was a member of Morning Star Cowbow Church in Leesburg, FL where he enjoyed spending his winters with his daughter. He was a proud WWII Veteran serving at the Battle of the Bulge and was a member of Hollsopple VFW. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a life member of Hollsopple Sportsman’s Club. He also love to go to his camp in Maryland. His grandkids made him proud and he loved watching them play sports. You could always see him out on his Can-Am Spyder Mottorcycle, or with his friend Dean Deal or special companion his dog Maddy. Will had worked for Lavely Signs in the past and worked till he was 85 running his own backhoe service company. He retired from Island Creek Coal Company with 37 ½ years of service. Family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Wednesday at the George E. Mason Funeral Home, Inc. Davidsville where funeral service will be held at 10 A.M. Thursday.
