Albert F. "Bud" Smith, Jr.

Smith: Albert F., Jr. “Bud” “Al”, 77, of Hollsopple died September 5, 2021, at home with family.  Born September 24, 1943, in Davidsville the son of Albert F. and Berthelda J. (Holsopple) Smith, Sr.  Preceded in death by parents and brother H. William “Bill” Smith.  Survived by wife of 57 years Carol (Berkebile) Smith and these children Tammy married to Brian Shaffer, Eric and friend Dawn Bennett, and Sonya married to Douglas Tresnicky.  Loving grandfather of Katie, Zach, Aaron, and Joshua Shaffer and Hunter and Jeffrey Tresnicky.  Brother of Imogene “Jean” widow of Ed Ableson, Linda widow of Wade Thomas, Mary married to David Horner, and sister-in-law Jeannine Smith.  Also many nieces and nephews.  Bud was a very active member of St. Thomas Lutheran Church. He was a 1961 graduate of Conemaugh Township High School.  Al retired from Penelec as a Lineman with 35 years’ service.  He was always involved in everything he did being a member of Cambria Masonic Lodge # 278, Flood City Campers, and IBEW Local # 495.  A life member of the NRA he was an avid hunter and outdoor enthusiast.  He adored his wife, children and grandchildren most.  Family will receive friends Saturday from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. at the George E. Mason Funeral Home, Inc. Davidsville where a Masonic Service will be held and from 1 P.M. until time of service at 2 P.M. Sunday at St. Thomas Lutheran Church.  Pastor Nila Cogan officiating.  Interment St. Thomas Cemetery.  Those who wish please make donations to St. Thomas Lutheran Church or Windber Hospice.
