Anna Catherine (Byers) Harker

Harker: Anna Catherine (Byers), 95 of Davidsville, died January 5, 2019 at Rose of Sharon Personal Care Home in St. Michael.  Born December 25, 1923 in Davidsville the daughter of Harry S. and Annie L. (Kaufman) Byers.  Preceded in death by parents, husband Leonard L. Harker, Sr. who died April 24, 2003, son-in-law Darryl Hinton, great grandson Levi Hinton, and brothers Boyd and William Byers.  Survived by children Leland E. married to Carol (Mickle), Fruitland Park, FL; Shirley A. married to Joseph Marhefka, Jr. The Villages, FL; Sharon A. married to Chris Bostick, Hurricane, WV; Leonard L. Jr. married to Wendy (Gasparato), Davidsville; and Sally A. Hinton and John C. Alt, Jr.; Johnstown.  Also survived by grandchildren Alesia Bonner, Brian Harker, Michelle Yoder, Eric Marhefka, Doug Westover, Christin Westover, Madison Bostick, Jennifer Harker, Erin Mulhollen, Haley Strickler, Lea Harker, Drew Hinton, and Stacey Hinton, Jesper Nielsen, and 15 great grandchildren.  Sister of Esther Hunter; Windber.  Anna was a member of Grace Assembly of God Church in Hornerstown.  She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who will be remembered for her smile, kind words and amazing cookies and pies.  She had a love of music especially playing the piano, organ, and Accordion, and loved traveling and going on cruises.  Anna was blessed with kind neighbors, special friends and caregivers including Amanda Hinton and the loving staff at Rose of Sharon Personal Care Home in St. Michael.  Family will receive friends from 4-8 P.M. Wednesday at the George E. Mason Funeral Home, Inc. Davidsville where funeral service will be held at 10 A.M. Thursday.  Pastor Douglas Price officiating.  Interment Custer Cemetery.  Family asks donations be made to Grace Assembly of God Church 598 Ash Street Johnstown, PA 15902 in Anna’s memory.
