Christopher S. Gaunt, 90, of Johnstown, passed peacefully at home on April 25, 2019. Born October 23, 1928, son of the late Arthur and Adehlia (Bastine) Gaunt. Member of the East Hills Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses, he was baptized June 1, 1968. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his children: Susan, Arthur, and Rosemary Gaunt, and by many brothers and sisters. Chris is survived by his beloved wife of 72 years Susan (McKendree) Gaunt. He is also survived by children Christopher Jr. and wife Linda (Spisak), Clara Mae and husband Starlin McClain, and Gary and wife Tammy (Casciotti), all of Johnstown. Grandchildren: Michael Gaunt (Stacie), Susan McClain, Starlin McClain Jr (Jolene), Andrew Gaunt (Laura), Robert McClain (Danielle), Bradley McClain (Angela), Christopher McClain (Donna), Craig Gaunt (Kristen), Ryan Gaunt, 12 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Also survived by brothers Arthur Gaunt and Henry Gaunt (Caroline) and sister-in-law Bernice Gaunt. Christopher was at one time a member of the Geistown fire hall. He loved hunting, fishing, his beagle dogs, and spending summers with his family at his Bedford cottage. He graduated from VoTech for mechanics. Before retirement he worked on the CNBL Railroad. Friends will be received Sunday at 3:30pm with a service to follow at 4:00pm at the East Hills Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 35 Joseph St. Windber, PA 15963.
