Claude David Garner

Claude David Garner, 89, of Waynesboro, PA formerly of Groton, NY, went home to the Lord on December 7, 2023, at Chambersburg Hospital.  He was born on October 27, 1934, in Cortland, NY the son of Claude D and Olive (Knapp) Garner.  Claude was preceded in death by his parents and siblings June Garner, Robert Garner, Bessie Garner, Ruth Rofe, Charlotte Turk, and John Garner.  He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years Mary Alice (Lee) Garner and his children Christopher and his wife Elizabeth Garner and Karen and her husband Eric Holsopple.  Claude was a loving grandfather to Jonathan Garner, and Ethan, Adrienne, and Edward Holsopple.  He will also be missed by several nieces, nephews, and family.  He was an active former member of Memorial Baptist Church in Cortland NY and 1ST Baptist Church in Johnson City NY.  Claude attended Baptist Bible College in Johnson City before becoming a proud United States Air Force Veteran.  He retired as a Systems Analyst for Cornell University.  The family will hold a Memorial Service in Cortland NY in the spring where he will be interred at the Virgil Rural Cemetery.
