Chase: David Alan, 65, Johnstown, formerly of Lake Hopatcong, New Jersey passed away March 6, 2018 at Laurel View Village, from stroke complications. Born April 17, 1952 in Morristown, New Jersey, son of the late George and Pat Chase. Preceded in death by older brother Jack. Survived by wife, Kathleen of Johnstown; children Rick (Knox) of East Stroudsburg, Theresa (Jarosick) and husband Jeremy; grandchildren Addison and Conor, all of Davidsville, as well as sisters; Barbara Hadden of Williamstown, MA, Cathie Negri and husband Jack of Augusta, NJ, Wendy Chase of Jacksonville, FL, and numerous nieces and nephews. Dave was a graduate of Jefferson Township High School in Oak Ridge, New Jersey and was a retired employee of Novartis Pharmaceutical, where he was employed for over 40 years as a Database Administrator. Dave was active in Freemasonry and was a member of Musconetcong Lodge No. 151 (now No. 42) in Budd Lake, New Jersey. In 1976 he earned the sublime degree of Master Mason. In 1981 he was elected Worshipful Master. In 1993 he was appointed District Deputy Grand Master of the First Masonic District for the state of New Jersey and in 2001 he was installed with the highest honor of Grand Master of the state. His many accomplishments while in office are valued after all these years and he will be missed by his many Masonic Brethren. An avid motorcyclist, Dave loved riding his Harley Davidson for many years before purchasing a Can-Am Spyder. He and his wife loved to ride and explore various sites in the area. He loved life, his family, and had a heart of gold. No viewing. A Masonic memorial will be held in in the Fellowship Hall at 1114 Oxmead Road Burlington NJ.08016 on April 14, 2018 at 2 P.M.
