Hostetler: David Merle, 74, of Boswell went home to be with the Lord after a long courageous battle with ALS on November 2, 2018 at his home. Born August 8, 1944 in Johnstown the son of Norman and Erma Hostetler, Sr. Preceded in death by parents, Brother Leon and his wife Ruth, and In Laws Dolly Hostetler and Don Kolb. Survived by wife of 50 years Betty (Lehman) and his sons Jeremy (Deb), Josh (Melissa), and Justin (Val). Also survived by grandchildren Mike, Luke, Hannah, Sarah, and Eli. Dave was the brother of Betty Kolb, Norman Jr. (Shirley), Bob (Eloise), Linda (Dennis) Knepper, and Judy (Jim) Mullet. He will be missed by many Nieces and Nephews. Member of Way of Hope Christian Fellowship. He was on the Board of Directors for Somerset REC. Dave was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved farming, his animals, and being outdoors. Family will receive friends Monday from Noon to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. at the George E. Mason Funeral Home, Inc. Davidsville and from 10 A.M. until time of Funeral Service at 11 A.M. Tuesday at Thomas Mennonite Church. Pastors Rob Rummel and Mike McKool officiating. The family wishes to thank the many Caregivers, Way of Hope Church Family, Friends and Neighbors, Windber Hospice, and the ALS Association Pittsburgh Chapter.
