Perez: Doris “Dora” died peacefully on November 29, 2021, at Laurel View Village, Davidsville. She was born on December 17, 1940, in Cuba to Heriberto and Luisa (Lopez) Perez. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Guy; brother-in-law, Arthur James May; and nephew, Jayson Buckley. She is survived by her sister, Norma (Perez) May of Hollsopple; nieces Tina Alexander of Ligonier; Amy (Thomas) Musselman of Virginia Beach, Virginia; Melissa (Leudy) Perez-Tavarez of Jackson, NJ; Liza (Robert) Perez Martinez of Johnstown; and nephew Brian Jesse (Geisha) Perez of North Bergen, NJ. Also survived by her beloved cat, Angelina. Dora immigrated to the United States with her family in 1961, initially living in New York City but eventually settling in Union City, NJ. She worked as a bookkeeper for many years at Duro-Test. Upon retiring in 2002, Dora moved to Johnstown to be closer to her sister and her family. Dora was a very social person who never met a stranger. She had a cheerful disposition and could make anybody laugh. She had an incredible green thumb and took pride in taking care of her plants. Dora was very interested in politics and followed the news closely. She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, shopping, walking, reading, and spending time with her family. Dora loved cats and had many over the years. She will be dearly missed by her loved ones, who take comfort in knowing she is with the Lord. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to the wonderful staff at Laurel View Village, who took excellent care of Dora. There will be no viewing or funeral per Dora’s request. Arrangements entrusted to the George E. Mason Funeral Home, Inc. Davidsville.
