Dr. Michael P. Lovette, DDS

Michael P. Lovette DDS passed peacefully into eternal life on December 11, 2022 at Windber Hospice.  “Mike” was born in Johnstown on January 5th 1953, the son of Dr. John B. MD and Catherine E. Lovette.  He is preceded in death by his parents, and daughter Melissa Lynn.  Also preceded in death by niece Kara Lynn, sister-in-law Lynn, and niece Leigh A. (Lovette) Kopco.  Michael is survived by his wife Catherine, son Patrick (Kali) (grandchildren: Zoey, Max, and Luka), son Timothy (Dayla), stepson Ken (“K L”) Lambertus (Jodi) and step grandson Logan.  Also survived by mother-in-law Margaret Thomas, brothers Atty. Daniel R. Lovette, Dr. John B. (Barney) Lovette II DDS. and wife Mary Lu, and David Lovette RPh, and wife Sharon (Frick).  Nieces and nephews: Kate (Michael), John (Casey), Matthew, Madeleine (Andy), Dr. Daniel T. (Alanna), and Caroline (Adam).  Mike graduated from Westmont Hilltop High School in 1970 where he excelled academically and was a varsity member of the wrestling squad for all three years.  He graduated from St. Vincent College, Latrobe in 1974 then attained his dental degree with honors from Temple University School of Dentistry.  He practiced dentistry in Davidsville and Carrolltown.  Mike loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter, archer, and target shooter his whole life. He always had a great garden due to his “green thumb.” Four wheeling with his sons was one of his favorite activities. He also enjoyed scuba diving in the Cayman Islands.  At Mikes request there will be no public viewing and Inurnment will be private. Donations in his memory may be made to Windber Hospice 600 Somerset Ave. Windber, PA 15963 or to a charity of choice.  Arrangements entrusted to George E. Mason Funeral Home, Inc. Davidsville.
