E. Jean Kipp-Bogia Obituary

E. Jean “Jeanie” Kipp-Bogia, 87, of Quarryville, PA, formerly of Perryville, MD, departed this life on Thursday, April 6, 2023 at Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community. She was the loving wife of the late Maurice C. Bogia, sharing 24 years of marriage at his time of passing in 2019. She was also the wife of the late Richard L. “Bud” Kipp, who passed away in 1984.Born in Hooversville, Somerset County, PA, she was the daughter of the late Harold C. and Nettie A. (Housel) Berkebile Following high school, Jean attended nursing school and became a Licensed Practical Nurse. She worked in a hospital maternity ward for a few years before raising her family. In her later years she was employed as a business receptionist. Jean was an active member of North East Methodist Church in North East, MD, where she enjoyed singing in the choir. In her spare time, she looked forward to square dancing. She also enjoyed trips to Florida each year. She is survived by her sons, Richard Kipp, of Port Deposit, MD, Roger (Michelle) Kipp, of Conowingo, MD, and Timothy (Janett) Kipp, of Port Deposit, MD; a sister, Dawna (Dennis) Corella,  of Hollsopple, PA; brothers, Ellis (Beverly) Berkebile, of Windber, PA, and Gary (Nancy) Berkebile, of Accident, MD; a daughter-in-law, Deanna C. Kipp, of Felton, PA; a former daughter-in-law, Sarah Kipp, of Felton, PA;14 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; a stepdaughter, Debby E. (Rick Curles) Bogia, of Wilmington, DE; and stepsons, Larry C. Bogia, of Royersford, PA, and Gregg A. (Therese) Bogia, of Fleetwood, PA. In addition to her husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Daniel Alan Kipp, brothers, Kimmel, Melvin, Robert, Mervin, and Donald Berkebile, and sisters, Betty Inscho and Reba Atwell. A Funeral Service will take place at 12:00 noon on Friday, April 14, 2023, at the George E. Mason Funeral Home, 1687 Tire Hill Road, Davidsville, PA 15928, with at viewing at the funeral home from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. Interment will follow the service in Saint Thomas Lutheran Cemetery, Hooversville, PA.
