Edward M. Shirey

Shirey: Edward M. 82 of Somerset died January 6, 2025, at Select Specialty Hospital in Johnstown.  Born September 30, 1942, in Jenners Crossroads the son of Merle and Orphabel (Shaffer) Shirey.  Preceded in death by parents and sister Yvone Thomas.  Survived by Brother-In-Law Bill Thomas and Nephew Scott Thomas. Ed was a 1960 Graduate of JBJ.  He entered the US Navy and was an Electronics Technician on the USS St. Paul.  He operated his own landscaping and designer company and loved gardening and flowers.  He also loved to volunteer at Phipps Conservatory.  No viewing or services at his request.  Burial at Penn Forest Cemetery in Pittsburgh.  Those who wish can make donations to Phipps Conservatory 1 Schenley Drive Pittsburgh, PA 15213 in Ed’s Memory.  Arrangements entrusted to the George E. Mason Funeral Home, Inc. Davidsville.
