Harold Alwine Obituary

Alwine: Harold, 87 of Hollsopple died July 25, 2022 at Conemaugh Hospital.  Born May10, 1935 in Johnstown the son of David and Edith (Thomas) Alwine.  Preceded in death by parents, daughter Pauline, and brothers Merle, Clair, Dean, Sanford, Carl, and Daryl.  Survived by wife of 66 years Reta (Shetler) Alwine, and sons Randy Alwine (Diana) and Bryan Alwine (Kelly).  Loving grandfather of Beth (Sean), Chris (Megan), Traci Marie (Chris), Colleen (Mike), Sheena (Tom), Cheyenne (Adam), and Sierra.  Also survived by 21 great grandchildren.  Harold is also survived by his sister Dorcas Zook.  He was a member of Maple Spring Church where he sang in the choir and was a trustee.  He graduated from JMS.  Harold loved baseball having pitched for several leagues in both Pennsylvania and Maryland.  He also was on the 1953 AAABA team.  He was offered to play for the Pittsburgh Pirates.  Harold had worked for the government in Agriculture and the Food and Drug Administration but worked most of his life in construction.  He was always quick to offer his services to anyone he knew.  He loved to sit and listen to Corner Stone Television and be with his family.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather who will be missed by all.  Family will receive friends from 10 A.M. until time of his Celebration of Life at 11 A.M. Saturday August 6 at Maple Spring Church.  Pastor Guy Meyers officiating.  Inurnment will be in Maple Spring Cemetery.
