Saylor: John J. 90 of Davidsville went to be with Jesus March 26, 2017 at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center. Born September 9, 1926 in Woodstown, PA the son of William and Lydia (Yoder) Saylor. Preceded in death by parents, brothers James Saylor, William Saylor, Jr, and sisters Beatrice Blough, Beulah Johns, and Violet Wible, and brother-in-law Richard Mock. Survived by wife Betty (Mock), and daughters Judy married to Ted Risch, and Cindy married to Dave Duray. Also survived by grandchildren Sarah married to Chris Wallace, Tom Risch, and Tim Risch, John Duray married to Ashley (Wieland), Katie Miller, and Matt Duray married to Kelsey (Ott), and 10 great grandchildren. He was the brother of Robert (Audrey) Saylor, Betty (Richard) Layton, Nancy Shaffer, Frank (Leona) Saylor, Roberta (Robert) Bowman, and brother-in-law Lee Wible. He also had a number of loving nieces and nephews. John was a Navy Veteran of WWII of which he was proud to have served. He was formerly employed by Joe Miller and Son Contractors prior to starting John Saylor Contractor and Saylor Simplicity Sales where he built and remodeled many homes and churches in the area. John was a master craftsman building projects for family, friends, churches, and Camp PARC, with whom he was closely involved. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, Potter County, and spending time with family and friends solving the world’s problems. John enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s activities and sporting events. John was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church of Hollsopple where he served the Lord in many capacities. He was always there to help in any situation. John was a former member of the Connumach Lions Club. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather who will be sadly missed by all. Family will receive friends Wednesday from 2-5 and 6-9 P.M. at the George E. Mason Funeral Home, Inc. Davidsville and from 10 A.M. until time of Funeral Service at 11 A.M. at Bethel United Methodist Church Hollsopple Pastor David Bowman officiating. Internment Dunmeyer Cemetery.
