Leah Stayrook Obituary

Stayrook: Leah B. 80 of Johnstown died December 11, 2019 at home.  Born January 7, 1939 in Buckstown the daughter of Albert and Margaret (Peden) Hershberger.  Preceded in death by parents, first husband Carmon R. Stayrook who died in 1986, second husband William Stayrook who died in 2000, sister Lois Lippert, and brother Edward Hershberger.  Survived by children Calvin married to Beverly (Horner), Robert married to Patti (Fockler), Linda married to Mark Golden, and Paul married to Valerie (Mellon).  Also survived by grandchildren Jeremy, Rebekah, Zachary, Gabriel, Liana, Aaron, Quinn, Dakota, and Shannon and 8 great grandchildren.  She was the sister of Jay married to Doris Hershberger.   Leah was also the stepmother of several children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.  She will be missed by her loving companion Oscar.  She was a faithful member of Centennial United Methodist Church.  She also served as a volunteer for the Conemaugh Township Food Bank.  Leah loved to craft and go camping.  Family will receive friends from noon until time of her Celebration of Life Service at 2 P.M. Saturday December 28 at Centennial United Methodist Church.  Pastor David Bowman officiating.  Inurnment Blough Mennonite Cemetery.
