HOSTETLER - Leon, 82, of Hollsopple, PA, passed away on March 23, 2017. Born in Hollsopple, son of Norman Hostetler Sr. and Erma (Speigle) on May 12, 1934. Preceded in death by parents and wife, Ruth (Beisel). Survived by children Diane (wife of Richard Yoder) of Boswell, PA, Doretta (wife of Jim Dorsch) of Frederick, MD, Galene Ronald of Johnstown, PA, and Gail Hostetler of Frederick, MD; grandchildren Reuben Yoder (wife Cherie Ream), Aaron Yoder (wife Heather Styer), Branden Ronald (friend Annie Swincinski), Denene Ronald, Jenn Dorsch (fiance Brian Messler), Katie Thomas (husband Jay Thomas), and Michelle Dorsch; great-grandchildren Karissa Yoder, Christian Yoder, Sydney Thomas, Colten Thomas, and Abigail Yoder; siblings Betty Kolb, Norman Hostetler Jr., Bob Hostetler, David Hostetler, Linda Knepper, and Judy Mullet. Graduate of Johnstown Mennonite School in 1952. He spent a long career in store refrigeration maintenance as an HVAC mechanic for Acme Markets, Gee Bee, Glossers, Riverside, Penn Traffic, and Bilo supermarkets. All those he came in contact with remember him for his strong Christian faith, love, kindness, and sense of humor. Ruth and he loved to travel and visited all 50 states. Leon enjoyed spending time with family, especially camping each year. He was a jack of all trades, but had a passion for hunting, being outdoors, cutting wood, and helping others. He was a member of Blough Mennonite Church. Family will receive friends Saturday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at George E. Mason Funeral Home, Inc. Davidsville and from 1:30 p.m. until the time of the funeral at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Blough Mennonite Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be given to Johnstown Christian School, St Francis Sharing & Caring, or World's Attic.
