Linda Carney Obituary

Carney: Linda M. (Smakula), 69 of Hollsopple died February 20, 2021 at home.  Born April 8, 1951 in Johnstown the daughter of John and Mildred (Struba) Smakula.  Preceded in death by parents and brother Johnny “Smacks”.  Survived by husband of 49 years Gary Carney.  Sister of JoAnne (Ron) Blough, and Dave Smakula.  Also survived by nephews Michael Blough and David and his wife Emily Blough and their children Ella and Ethan.  Linda will be missed by her Uncle Smoke and Aunt Kush Smakula, Aunt Anna Mae Struba, and Aunt Sandy Smakula and many cousins.  Linda also leaves behind her special friends Barb B, Martha, Wanda, Margie, Virginia, Susan, Vanessa, Joyce, Diane F, Diane B, and Barb K.  Linda was employed by Laurel View Village as a housekeeping the Health Care Section Hall 1.  Gary and Linda were very blessed to have Father Aaron, Dr. Kastelic and his wonderful caring staff.  He would also like to thank Interim Home Health especially Jill and Angie and Tabitha, Candi, and Stephanie of Haven Interim Hospice.  Also, a special thank you to Danny Dabbs.  Linda enjoyed eating out, shopping, and being with her animals, especially her cats.  Private Visitation at George E. Mason Funeral Home, Inc. Davidsville.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 A.M. Wednesday at St. Anne Catholic Church in Davidsville with masks and social distancing.  Father Aaron Maghsoudi celebrant.  Committal St. Anne Cemetery.  The family asks please no food donations.  In lieu of flowers please make donations to St. Anne Catholic Church, Davidsville, Somerset County Humane Society, or the Mary Grace Hospice Foundation.
