Mark J. Mishler

Mishler: Mark J., 67 of Hollsopple, passed away December 23, 2023. He was born January 10, 1956, son of Esther (Naugle) Mishler and the late Merle Mishler.  Mark is survived by mother, Esther, wife Helen Knepper Mishler, brother Dale Mishler (Erin), and sister Diane Miller (Rick).  Also survived by nephew Steve Miller (Laura) Nieces Amy Wright (James), Eden Mishler-Ihrig (Matt), Meredith Mishler (Darien), and Adeline Mishler, and their children Caroline, Nathan, Eva, Scarlett, James, Ashton, and Evie.  Others surviving are sisters-in-law Mary Beth Williams, Jane Smiley, Eileen Horning, Amy Petenbrink and their families.  Mark is also preceded in death by his German Shepard dog, Sheba whom he taught to get groundhogs, every farmer’s menace.  The Mishler’s had a fine registered Holstein herd.  Highlights of those days was when the classifier came to score (Judge) the cows and the time the National Holstein Association came out of Pittsburgh in tour buses to see the herd of cows.  The milking herd was sold 2010 then Mark bought beef cattle and sold freezer beef.  Mark enjoyed making small square bales of hay and straw and selling them locally.  Mark was a 1974 graduate of Conemaugh Township High School.  He enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh Steelers and helping his brother in the auction business.  People enjoyed his quirky sense of humor.  Mark was a member of St. David’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, the Farm Bureau, and the PA Holstein Association.  The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away.  Blessed be the name of the Lord Job 20:21. Family will receive friends from 10 A.M. until time of memorial service at noon Saturday at St. David’s Lutheran Church in Davidsville.
