Thomas: Paul Ephraim, 90, of Windber formerly of Soap Hollow, died April 2, 2025, at Windber Hospice. Born September 19, 1934, in Johnstown Somerset County, the son of Ephraim and Katie (Berky) Thomas. Preceded in death by parents and siblings Margaret Miller, Sarah Thomas, Mary Layton, and 2 infant brothers. Survived by wife of 57 years the former Ruth Y. (Sarvis) Thomas and these children Laura and husband Dwight Erb, Alan Thomas, and Jenny and husband Leon Kauffman. Loving grandfather of Marcy Erb (Ananth), Debra Erb (Daymon), and Tasha Erb and Jayla and Jalen Kauffman and a loving great grandfather to Allison and Brooklyn. Member of Stahl Mennonite Church. He was a 1953 graduate of Conemaugh Township High School. He had worked for the former Mishler’s Greenhouse for 24 years and retired from Iron City Sash and Door Company in 1999. Paul was a good and faithful husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend. The family wishes to thank the Windber Hospice for all their care and compassion to Paul and their family. The family will receive friends from 1 P.M. until time of service at 2:30 P.M. Sunday at Stahl Mennonite Church with Pastors Jayne Byler, Wes Yoder, and William Wenger officiating. Interment Stahl Mennonite Church Cemetery.
