Blough: Ronald “Boomer”, 77 passed away peacefully on December 3, 2025, at Conemaugh Hospital Palliative Care Unit. Born May 3, 1948, in Somerset the son of R. Dean and Alice (Zimmerman) Blough. Ed in death by parents. Survived by wife of 56 years Joanne (Smakula) Blough and sons Michael and David (Emily), grandchildren Ella and Ethan, and great granddaughter Alaina. He was the brother of Connie (Bob) Layding. Ron was a steelworker an electrician in the Franklin Car Shop. Ron grew up on a small farm near the Quemahoning Dam. He took pride in everything he did. He enjoyed being outdoors hunting and fishing and working on his house and yard. Ron was a “Quiet Man”, Kind, Gentle, and Caring. His family was his life. He was deeply loved and will be missed. God Bless all the dedicated, caring, understanding, unselfish, and compassionate “Angels” who cared for Ron as he struggled with dementia and aggressive Alzheimer’s. Family will receive friend Wednesday December 10, 2025, from 2 until time of Prayer Service at 4 at the George E. Mason Funeral Home, Inc. Davidsville. Private interment St. Anne Catholic Cemetery. The family asks please make a donation to a charity of your choice in memory of Ron.
