Velma S. E. (Kaltenbaugh) Gindlesperger went to her heavenly home to be with her Lord and Savior on September 3, 2020. Born February 2, 1921 in Hollsopple PA. Velma was the 13th child of Charles Sr and Mary (Eash) Kaltenbaugh. Preceded in death by parents and 12 siblings, Katie, Albert, Edward, Lee, Pearl, Anna, Lydia, Laura, James, Charles Jr, Mada, and Willard. Married June 21, 1941 to Slater Carl Gindlesperger who died August 14, 2003. Also proceeded in death by Son, Richard Carl who died July 7, 1963. She was a loving mother to Norma Gindlesperger, Davidsville; JoAnn (Richard) Owen, Virginia; and Gloria (Allen) Kaufman Friedens and daughter-in-law Joyce Fannin, Kentucky. Loving grandmother to Richie (Jill) Gindlesperger, Donna Kay (Vic) Adams, Jamie (Ronnie) Owen, Casey (Joe) Durst, Jeff (Alaina) Kaufman, Justin (Ashley) Kaufman, and Janna (Kevin) Miller. Loving Great Grandmother to Eric (Christine) Gindlesperger, Emily Gindlesperger, Caleb (Brittany) Adams, Bret Adams, Riley and Jesse Owen, Avery Durst, Reyne Kaufman, Avery Kaufman, and Harper Miller. And proud Great Great Grandmother to Scarlett and Slater Gindlesperger. Velma graduated in the first class of Conemaugh Township High School in 1939. She was a life member of Kaufman Mennonite Church where she taught children in Sunday School and Bible School, and quilted in the ladies sewing group. Velma also volunteered at Worlds Attic in Somerset until age 92. Family will receive friends Saturday from 4-8 P.M. at the George E. Mason Funeral Home, Inc. Davidsville, with masks and social distancing recommended, and from 12:30 until time of funeral service at 1:30 Sunday at Kaufman Mennonite Church, Pastors Richie Gindlesperger and Michael Dean officiating. Interment Blough Mennonite Cemetery. Family asks donations be made to Windber Hospice or Kaufman Mennonite Church in memory of Velma.
