JONES, Violet Grace, 97 of Davidsville and formally of Soap Hollow Somerset County, was called home to our Lord June 23, 2022 at Laurel View Village. Born February 6, 1925 in Conemaugh Township Somerset County, the daughter of John Ira and Rosa Pearl (Zimmerman) Bowman. Preceded in death by her parents, beloved husband Clairmont Edward “Zig” Jones and siblings Alice Wagner, Edith Kimmel, Vera Horner, Anna Winters, and David Bowman. Survived by son Sherwood Bowman “Chip” Jones and wife Rhonda Hildebrand of Honey Brook, PA. Also survived by granddaughters Heather Donahue and husband Brian, Tiffany Farmer and husband John and Ashey Milone and husband Anthony and nine great grandchildren. She served as an Elder and Deacon at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Johnstown, where she was also a caregiver, choir-member, soloist and kindergarden teacher for many years. She retired from Northern Propane Gas Company where she was employed as Office and Credit Manager. She was a 1942 graduate of Conemaugh Township High School and member of the Conemaugh Township Area Historical Society. Visitation for friends and family is scheduled from 10 A.M. until the funeral service at 11 A.M. Tuesday at George E. Mason Funeral Home, Inc. Davidsville with Pastor Wes Yoder officiating and Caelan Donahue (great grandson) cantor. Interment at Kaufman Cemetery. Condolences are being received at www.georgemasonfuneralhome.com.
