Kemp, Elizabeth/Betty A. (Maldeis), 94, went to be with the Lord, April 10, 2017 at Laurel View Village.  Born January 30, 1923 in Baltimore, Md, to Albert and Lillian Maldeis.  Predeceased by her beloved husband of 59 years, DeWitt Kemp, Jr. for whom she was a devoted caregiver the last 25 years of his life. She was also preceeded in death by her siblings, Albert Maldeis and Ruth Pole.  Survived by her children: DeWitt/Bud Kemp (Jackie) ; Mary Sue Forman (Joseph); Sally Bush (Russell ) and David Kemp (Terry).  Also survived by 11 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.  Betty graduated from Forest Park High School and Baltimore School of the Bible. She and her husband, De, were active in Young Life and as Methodist Youth counselors. Betty was also an active member in Baltimore West Christian Women’s Club for many years. She was a gracious hostess and loved welcoming friends and family into her home, a warm gathering place.   Many will miss her letters and cards, as well as her faithfulness as a prayer warrior. A great cook, Betty was known especially for her homemade sugar cookies which she generously shared with everyone. The family would like to thank the loving staff of Laurel View Village and of Windber Hospice.  Visitation will be held from 9:30-10:30, Wednesday, April 12th at Trinity Presbyterian Church, Hostetler Road, Johnstown where Betty was a member for 20 years. This will be followed by a memorial service at the church. Committal at Woodlawn Cemetery, Baltimore. MD, 12:00 PM on April 13th. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Windber Hospice or Trinity Presbyterian Church.
