Lohr: James Kenneth, on July 6, 2017 at the age of 98 years 6 months and 22 days, James ascended into heaven to join his wife, Ethel, for eternity.  Born December 14, 1918, in Johnstown, son of Dorsey and Martha Viola (Strayer) Lohr.  Jim grew up in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, graduating from Johnstown High School in 1936.  He worked at Bethlehem Steel until joining the Army in July 1942.  He served for three and one half years during WWII in the South Pacific.  After returning from the Army he returned to work at Bethlehem Steel where he worked as a roller for 43 years retiring in May 1983.  Jim married Ethel Ruth Lewis December 24, 1941.  Jim was a member of Centennial United Methodist Church, North Fork.  He enjoyed hunting and camping with his friends and family.  Jim was preceded in death by his parents and wife of 73 years; his brother, Art Lohr; and sisters, Mary Baldwin, Ethel Kinsey, and Eleanor McQuade.  Jim is survived by his daughters Cheryl Raleigh-Duroff, married to Dennis Duroff, Seattle, Washington and Karen Chirillo, married to Richard Chirillo, Menoher Heights; son James Kenneth Lohr Jr., married to Nancy Senchisen, Somerset Pike, grandchildren, Elizabeth Bell, Lone Tree, Colorado, Amber Kuminka, Parker, Colorado, Samantha Chirillo, Eugene, Oregon, Windy Horner, Hollsopple and Stormy Whetstone, Windber; great-grandchildren Grant, Julia, and Jenna Bell, Rhory and Blayne Whetstone.  Jim was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend; and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.  No viewing or receiving of friends at his request.  Interment will be held 10 A.M. Saturday July 22, 2017 at Grandview Cemetery, then family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial service at 11:30 A.M. following at Laurel View Village Chapel, Pastor Jeffrey Bassette, officiating.  Arrangements by George E. Mason Funeral Home, Inc., Davidsville.
