Wible: Lee A., Sr. 99 went to be with his heavenly Father June 9, 2017 at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center.  Born December 24, 1917 in Dutch Corner, Fulton County, PA, son of Orsian C. and Nelly (Snyder) Wible.  His home, here on earth, in the 1920’s was the Old Historical Fulton House, McConnellsburg, PA owned and operated by his parents.  Preceded in death by parents, wife of 72 years Violet May (Saylor) Wible who died April 27, 2015, three sisters, and three brothers.  Survived by sister Dorothy Jacobs (Paul), Johnstown; son Lee Jr. (Linda), Texas and many brothers and sisters in laws, nieces and nephews.  Member of St. David’s Lutheran Church, Davidsville, where he served on numerous committees; past president of Church Council; member of Adult Sunday school class; volunteered with the Red Cross blood Mobile, served as a volunteer with St. Francis Sharing and caring; and a longtime maintenance volunteer at the Sequanota Camp.  Lee was a life member of Conemaugh Township Historical Society and past president.  He retired from Bethlehem Steel as Chief Clerk of Steel Making Department, Electric Furnace.  World War II Service began with Selective Service Act signed by President Roosevelt in 1940.  Lee’s number was #44 drawn from the Fish Bowl.  He was part of the first wave of selective service to leave Johnstown, May 14, 1941, only to return five years later.  Lee’s time of service included Carolina Maneuvers, an Assignment to Staff and Faculty at the Rossford Ordinance School, Aberdeen, MD, and then to Iceland Base Command with General’s Staff as the Ordinance Officer.  Upon return home in 1946 he helped activate the first reserve unit, 254th Ordinance Company on the Johnstown area.  Lee retired from military service in December 1977 as a Major with 36 years of service.  He was a life member of the Reserve Officer Association and the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), Post 155.  Family will receive friends Tuesday from 5-8 P.M. at the George E. Mason Funeral Home Inc. and from 11 A.M. until time of funeral service at noon at St. David’s Lutheran Church.  Interment Kaufman Cemetery.
