So sorry to hear about Pete. He was one of the kindest people I know.

We extend our thoughts and prayers to Pete's family and friends. My wife and I also lost a great friend of 42 years.
I met Pete as his new supervisor at Whiteman AFB Mo in 1975. Over the next few years I learned that Pete was a man of many faults.
I quickly found that his peers poked fun at him for being so "By the Book" in his job. He became my Go to Guy when I had tough assignments...he was Honest and Dedicated to a fault.
When peers got in trouble and gave him a tough time, he assured others that they would do better....he was Friends to a Fault.
When troupes questioned Chain of Command on policy, procedure or decisions.... you could count on Pete to shine the light on rational... he was Loyal to a Fault.
Pete earned many monthly, quarterly, and annual awards based on his accomplishments... all fueled by his Faults. He earned a college degree and was selected to join the Officer Corps with much more difficult assignments... he was Patrotic to a Fault.
Pete never forgot my wife and me as we departed to other assignments in 1980. We enjoyed our conversations and updates several times each year. When Pete got his terminal diagnosis in December he purposely waited to break the news till mid January because he didn't was us sad over the holidays.... always thinking of others before himself... he was Caring to a Fault.
We have cherished his friendship. Just think how much better the world would be if we all possessed Pete's Faults. Rest In Peace my good friend you have earned it.
Love and Respect

I am so sorry I will not be able to attend the viewing. Pete was such a sweetheart. He was so kind and considerate. We worked together at NDIC; if he went out of down for work, he always brought me back a souvenir from where he had gone. In addition, Pete would always go to my father's gravesite to make sure my father's military marker would be there.
